Grape varietals
The Furmint varietal (65%) was first recorded in Hungary (the only country where it is grown) at the end of the 17th century. Considered the finest white variety, it gives Tokaj its inimitable, vibrant and aromatic character.
The Hàrslevelü varietal (33%) has been grown in the Tokaj region since the early 18th century. Harslevelü is the second most cultivated variety in Hungary. Its name means "linden leaf" in Hungarian due to the similar shape of the vine leaves. This variety produces soft, full-bodied wines.
Lastly, Yellow Lunel Muscat or muscat à petits grains (2%), is one of the oldest grape varieties in the world and has been grown in Tokaj for centuries. It is present in very small quantities, but makes an important contribution to Tokaj's inimitable bouquet.
