NAME HAUT MEDOC DE BEYCHEVELLE

PROPRIETOR S.C.E. Château Beychevelle (Azur-GMF, Suntory Ltd.)

APPELLATION Haut-Médoc, Assimilated Cru Classé

COMMUNE Cussac-Médoc, au sud de Saint-Julien

VINEYARD 13 hectares. Excellent location on the Cussac hillocks, gravel and clay (contiguous to Ch. Beaumont)

VARIETALS 66% Cabernet Sauvignon
34% Merlot

PRODUCTION 7,000 - 8,000 cs

VINIFICATION Vinification (traditional), ageing and bottling is carried out by the same Château Beychevelle team headed by Philippe BLANC. Aged 15 months in oak casks, all of which have previously been used for the Grand Vin Ch. Beychevelle and 10% of which are renewed each year.

STYLE Medium to full-bodied with attractive, rich, plummy-berried fruit aromas. Excellent balance, structure and length. Ageing potential: 5 to 10 years. Overall, Brulières is a standout, classic Claret rivalling most Cru Bourgeois wines and which clearly benefits from the Ch. Beychevelle brand recognition.

MARKET NOTE This is the same wine as "Les Brulières de Beychevelle" however it is, perhaps, alittle easier to pronounce for some of our anglo-saxon customers.
