NAME BEAUREGARD LAGUPEAU (Château)

APPELLATION Graves

VINEYARD 26 hectares of sandy-gravel soil in Mazères. The subsoil is of a typical deep gravel-clay seam. More than 2/3 of the vineyard benefits from a superb southern exposure.
VARIETALS 55% Cabernet Sauvignon
35% Merlot
10% Cabernet Franc
Average age : 12 years

PRODUCTION 180 000 b. per year

VINIFICATION The cuvaison lasts between 15 and 21 days with controlled temperatures. The wine is then aged in oak barrels of which 25% are renewed each year.

STYLE Firm and rich structure for this "classy" Graves. Fine and elegant aromas of leather and dried plum with a sufficient touch of new oak to give it even better class and depth. A wine with the distinctive and typical Graves character! Can age 5-8 years but also so delightly when young.

Wines from this Graves region are often the least expensive of Bordeaux’s communal appellations making them particularly attractive.

MARKET NOTE As all red Bordeaux's, this wine can perfectly accompany any white meats (hams, chicken, turkey, veal ... ) or red meats (steaks, pheasant, duck, grouse, venison...) as well as fish in wine sauce. The older the wine, the more sophisticated the dish. A great classic with cheeses (Brie, Camembert, Cheddar ...). Equally delicious to accompany desserts such as red fruits or red fruit tarts and even chocolate desserts.
