| VINIFICATION |
This wine is vinified in the purest tradition in cellars “à la Médocaine” : typical of the end of the 19th Century whose 1st floor is open to receive the new harvest. The wine is manually harvested (2 teams of 40 to 50 pickers). The battery of vats are split between oak and stainless steel vats. Raisins coming from different parcels are vinified separately. The assemblage is done around March (end of winter) with a selection process which creates a 2nd, and often a 3rd, wine which is sold in bulk). The wine is aged 100% in oak barrels, during 18 months, of which 35% are renewed each year. |

| STYLE |
Jacques Boissenot (oenologist) best describes Desmirail : “wine of seduction and distinction and perfectly representative of the true Margaux’s which are elegant and feminine”. In spite of the wine’s high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, Desmirail is often perfumey, supple, tender and elegant.
Can easily age 5-15 years |

| MARKET NOTE |
Desmirail is often amongst the least expensive Classified Growths. It is not because of problems of quality (on the contrary) but more simply that its owner, Denis Lurton, is not inclined to any PR efforts. |
