STYLE Cissac is one of those estate's usually reserved for those empassioned wine buffs. Family owned and run estate, historically acclaimed in the UK, occassional lull's in quality (late 1980's and very early 1990's), and yet of late makes wines in the purist traditions: clean, precise, austere yet wielding density and complexity. In sum because Cissac has an original "terroir" from which great wines can be made.

Cissac is successfully coming back to its original terroir which made historically exceptional wines.

As some say (including the French reviews), Cissac has the rigour and density to match many of the established greats, such as Haut Marbuzet, or perhaps Montrose..., and at half the price (interesting, no ?)

MARKET NOTE Interesting to note that both Château Clerc Milon and Château Anseillan, prior to being sold to the two respective branches of the Rothschild families, were owned by the Vialard family.
